On March 12, Jai-Chul Choi, Chairman of the Climate Change Center, appeared on the KBS radio program “One Korea, One Nation” to discuss the significance of the 140th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and France, as well as the broader implications for international cooperation. Drawing on his experience of over a decade in France as Ambassador to France and a career diplomat, Chairman Choi reflected on the evolution of bilateral cooperation across diplomacy, culture, and climate. He emphasized that Korea–France relations have grown beyond traditional diplomatic exchanges into a strategic partnership grounded in shared values and global agendas.
He further highlighted the importance of strengthening collaboration to address global challenges such as the climate crisis, noting that sustained partnership between the two countries will play a key role in advancing a sustainable future. Chairman Choi stated, “Korea and France have built a strong partnership based on long-standing trust across various fields. I hope that this cooperation will continue to expand, particularly in addressing the climate crisis and advancing a sustainable future.”
