and broader collaboration
Seoul, September 1, 2026 — Climate Change Center, a nonprofit organization dedicated to climate action, has officially changed its name to Climate Change Foundation, marking a new chapter after 18 years.
The change reflects the evolving climate landscape and the growing need for collaboration across sectors. As Climate Change Foundation, the organization will strengthen its public-interest role and build a broader foundation for collaboration across sectors.
Founded in 2008 as Korea’s first nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing climate change, Climate Change Center has worked to make climate action a broader societal agenda. Through policy research and public dialogue, climate leadership initiatives, and international greenhouse gas reduction projects, the organization has developed extensive expertise in responding to the climate crisis.
The new name, Climate Change Foundation, builds the organization’s identity and expertise gained over the past 18 years, while signaling its ambition to take on an expanded role in a changing climate landscape.
The Foundation’s new slogan, “Moving Forward Together, Shaping Our Future,” reflects its belief in the power of collaboration across sectors to drive meaningful change. It also envisions a future where climate action becomes a natural part of everyday life and a new norm for society.
To support this vision, the Foundation has established three core values: Credible Voice, Constructive Action, and Collaborative Innovation. These values guide its efforts to foster informed public dialogue, pursue practical solutions, and expand the possibilities for climate action through collaboration and innovation.
The new visual identity carries forward the identity of Climate Change Center and draws inspiration from the three “C”s in its name. Flowing together as one, the three “C”s represent the idea that climate action gains strength when policy, industry, technology, and civil society come together.
Choi Jai-chul, Chairman of Climate Change Foundation, said, “Climate change is a challenge that no single sector can address alone.” He added, “Building on the expertise we have developed over the past 18 years, we will continue to work with diverse partners to strengthen climate action across society and turn ideas and commitments into impact.”
The Foundation has completed the administrative procedures associated with the name change and officially begins using its new name and visual identity on September 1, 2026. Its website has also been renewed as part of the rebranding, with the new web address: ccf2008.org.
