On July 18, Chairman Choi Jai-chul of the Climate Change Center underscored the importance of academic exchange and knowledge collaboration in addressing the climate crisis during the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Korea Climate Change Research Association (KCCRA).
The agreement aims to advance joint efforts between the two organizations in developing science-based policy proposals and enhancing public awareness on climate change. Under the MOU, the parties will engage in substantive cooperation, including the sharing of academic research, technology development collaboration, exchange of information and personnel, and joint public outreach initiatives.
At the ceremony, Chairman Choi remarked, “Effective climate solutions are only possible when scientific analysis is coupled with real-world implementation. This agreement marks a critical step in building a bridge between academia and civil society, and the Climate Change Center will play an active role in translating accumulated scientific expertise into policy and societal action.”
Through this partnership, the Climate Change Center plans to further strengthen its role as a sustainable climate knowledge hub, expanding its research, education, and advocacy initiatives to reinforce the effectiveness of Korea’s climate response system.
