March 10 – April 8: 30 Days of Climate Action in Motion

From March 10 to April 8, Climatus College led a 30-day Climate Action Challenge, encouraging youth to take real steps toward a sustainable future.

Youth climate activists from the U-Savers 18th Cohort took on the challenge — not just to learn about the climate crisis, but to take action, build new habits, and inspire each other.

Over the course of 30 days, they logged a total of 254 climate actions — showing that small steps can lead to lasting change.

This wasn’t just another campaign. It was a commitment to transform awareness into action, and action into a way of life.

Let’s take a closer look at how climate action became part of their daily routine — one week at a time.

Week 1 – Climate Action Through Media

Examples: Watching environmental documentaries, sharing magazine content, clipping climate-related news articles

One participant reflected on how much they learned about the impact of single-use plastics — not only on the environment, but also on human health.
They now feel motivated to study more climate-related content and share that knowledge with others.

Many others shared video clips, articles, and social media posts about the severity of the climate crisis, and committed to following up with more personal action in the weeks ahead.

Week 2 – Climate Action Through Sustainable Consumption

Examples: Using refillable containers, reducing packaging, eating plant-based meals

One student wrote about trying out Toun28's eco-friendly hand cream, a product with not only natural ingredients but also refillable packaging to reduce plastic waste.
They were inspired by how packaging and product design can help build a more sustainable consumer culture.

From groceries to cosmetics, participants explored and reviewed a range of eco-conscious brands and shared their experiences.

Week 3 – Climate Action Through Energy Saving

Examples: Turning off power strips, taking public transportation, minimizing heating/cooling

One student emphasized how standby power — even when devices are not in active use — contributes to major energy waste over time.
Their solution? Unplugging electronics and switching off lights before leaving home.

Others shared tips like using smartphone battery-saver mode and relying on natural daylight instead of indoor lighting — simple steps that make a difference.

Week 4 – Climate Action Through Resource Circulation

Examples: Using tumblers and eco-bags, reusing containers, reducing food waste

One participant recounted preparing a lunchbox in a reusable container for a hiking trip with friends.
They noted how food tasted better knowing it came with less environmental impact. What once felt inconvenient now felt rewarding — and natural.

Many others also shared photos and stories of using tumblers and lunch containers in their daily lives.

Final Week – Climate Action on Campus

Examples: Leading recycling campaigns, conserving energy in shared spaces, using eco-friendly goods

One student emphasized walking to school as an underrated form of climate action.
Not only does it cut emissions, it also supports physical health and provides a chance to connect with friends — a win-win-win!

Others shared practical actions on campus, like using tumblers at school cafés, picking up litter, and reusing scrap paper — proving that change starts right where we are.

From One-Off Campaign to a Way of Life

Though the challenge lasted just 30 days, participants came away with the realization that small routines make a big difference.

The true value of the Climate Action Challenge lies in this simple idea:
Real change comes not from occasional efforts, but from daily habits.
Climate action is more powerful when done as a community.
And together, small choices lead to a sustainable lifestyle.

Climatus College remains committed to walking this journey — toward a more sustainable, inclusive, and climate-conscious world.
