Background
- The emphasis on Multi-Level Action has led to the emergence of the concept of Multi-Level NDCs(Nationally Determined Contributions).
- The South Korean government has declared its commitment to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 and has set an ambitious target of a 40% reduction in emissions by 2030 compared to 2018 levels. All local governments across the nation are preparing to meet the 2030 NDC and 2050 carbon neutrality goals.
- Local government efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions not only contribute to national NDC but also create various added values, such as promoting sustainable development, stimulating the local economy, and enhancing community participation.
